The artist’s first art lesson was from her grandmother,

who was a painter at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Guidance encouraged outlining the form in a dark color

and shading in one direction in a light tone.

The artist later attended Rhode Island School

of Design finding her passion, direction and need to

create outside the lines.
